LASAR

Teradyne’s LASAR™ Simulation System is the U.S. defense industry's standard for digital test program set (TPS) development. Unlike design simulators, LASAR focuses on the problems facing the test engineer – predicting the timing variability of signals at the tester- unit under test (UUT) interface and on the UUT, predicting the behavior of the UUT when a physical or logic fault is present, and building an accurate diagnostic database for isolating faults on the UUT. Menu-guided programming streamlines TPS development from model creation through simulation and fault simulation.

LASAR test patterns and diagnostics results are post-processed to IEEE 1445 (Digital Test Interchange Format) format, and are exported directly to the Teradyne M9-Series and Di-Series digital test instruments. Used together, LASAR and Teradyne’s digital instruments provide a proven solution for defense and aerospace board test around the globe.

Features:

  • Automatically generate “good” circuit response patterns, fault dictionary and guided probe diagnostic data
  • Behavioral and structural device modeling tools
  • Predict test reliability problems ahead of time
  • Reduces TPS costs by predicting worst case timing problems, effect of the tester and test fixture on the board under test, and the compatibility of the test with the target tester
  • Accurately predict fault coverage
